I had known John since 1976 and working alongside him on John Kidson Motorcycles, Kwiksave Tyres (Stroud) Ltd, British Motorcycle Charitable Trust and vice-chair of ESP Investment Club. Great times and great memories.

In the relatively short time I knew John I found him easy to talk to and always ready to share stories about motorcycles and motorcycle racing. John was Chairman of the BMCT when I joined and he made it so much easier for me to slot in. I will miss chatting to him about all and sundry. God bless John.

From Tom Cullimore. Deepest condolences to you all from my mother Enid, Sister Alison and myself. My parents Trevor & Enid owned Thrupp farm house before John and Mavis. I spent my first two years on this earth living there. Nothing but great memories of a John and Mavis. We have lost a true champion of motorcycling and life as a whole. May you rest in peace John, I am so glad that I met you, and thanks for showing me around my former home on that memorable evening after Vi Dickenson's 80th birthday party !. Tom.

John was a true gentleman.Got my first real bike from him way back in the seventies just after he openedhis first shop (later moved to larger premises) i went to pick up the bike as the shop was closing only to find John working on it still.....there was a problem but John insisted he would carry on until it was running....we both stayed there until it finally fired into life at 8 pm!!! The man was dedicated and certainly inspired me in the noble art of motorcycling. I bought quite a few bikes from him over the years and he set me on a love affair with bikes.....i am now 66 and have never driven a car....he certainly got bikes under my skin. GREAT man....thank you......R.I.P. John.
