This page is a tribute to John Kidson, who sadly passed away on 18th October 2024, aged 90 years.
Beloved husband of Mavis, father of Sarah, Lucy and the late Jolyon, grandfather and great grandfather.
Formula 3 TT Winner and World Champion 1977.
Past President of the TT Riders Association.
He rode the Mountain Circuit (IOM) for 22 years.
Life President of the British Motorcycle Trust

Thoughts
I had known John since 1976 and working alongside him on John Kidson Motorcycles, Kwiksave Tyres (Stroud) Ltd, British Motorcycle Charitable Trust and vice-chair of ESP Investment Club. Great times and great memories.

In the relatively short time I knew John I found him easy to talk to and always ready to share stories about motorcycles and motorcycle racing. John was Chairman of the BMCT when I joined and he made it so much easier for me to slot in. I will miss chatting to him about all and sundry. God bless John.

From Tom Cullimore. Deepest condolences to you all from my mother Enid, Sister Alison and myself. My parents Trevor & Enid owned Thrupp farm house before John and Mavis. I spent my first two years on this earth living there. Nothing but great memories of a John and Mavis. We have lost a true champion of motorcycling and life as a whole. May you rest in peace John, I am so glad that I met you, and thanks for showing me around my former home on that memorable evening after Vi Dickenson's 80th birthday party !. Tom.
